Multimedia files are relatively large. Our MP3 files measure approximately 1 megabyte of data per minute of play time. It is not uncommon for a file to take half an hour or more to download over a 56k dialup connection. Rule of thumb: download time is approximately 4 minutes per megabyte with a connection of 49333 baud rate (good 56k modem connection); about 9 minutes per meg with a connection of 21800 baud rate (28.8k modem). Download time will vary depending on other network traffic.
